Danny Alicea, Director
As the Director of Afincáo Dance Company, Danny has dedicated their journey to teaching, performing, and building a thriving dance community where passion, technique, and connection come together.
Most recently, Danny achieved an incredible milestone, winning multiple World Championships with Iroko Dance Company at the World Salsa Summit—a testament to years of dedication, training, and love for the craft.
With a background rooted in Salsa, Bachata, and Afro-Latin movement, Danny has trained with some of the best in the industry, including Iroko, Santo Rico, Agape, Marisol Blanco, and Yusniel Garcia. Continuously refining his skills, he has developed a deep understanding of musicality, body movement, and technical precision that he now passes on to his students.
At Afincáo, Danny teaches Intermediate Salsa On2 (Level 3), Salsa Spins & Turns (Level 4), and Salsa Body Movement (Level 4), guiding students to refine their technique and achieve their highest potential. Beyond the classroom, you can find Danny coaching the Afincáo performance teams and making sure the music never stops at our monthly socials.

Ezequiel P.
Ezequiel was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Charlotte, where his love for music first sparked his passion for dance. Inspired by the rhythm and energy of Salsa music, he dedicated himself to mastering the art of Salsa On2. With four years of teaching experience — one of them with Afincáo — Ezequiel takes a detailed, technique-driven approach to training dancers.
In his Level 1 and 2 Salsa On2 cycles, he emphasizes footwork, partner connection, and musicality, ensuring students build strong fundamentals while gaining confidence in their movement. His structured yet supportive teaching style helps dancers feel grounded, precise, and in sync with the music.

Rashina B.
Rashina was born and raised in Augusta, GA. She grew up with a love for the arts. Inspired by movies like You Got Served and Step Up, she began dancing Hip-Hop before discovering Salsa in high school. Mesmerized by the energy of Latin dance, she dove into Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, and more.
Now training, performing, and teaching with Afincáo, Rashina leads Level 1 and 2 Urban Bachata cycles, blending smooth technique with a spice of Sensual styling. Her classes focus on body movement, musicality, and connection, helping dancers develop fluidity and control.
Fun Fact: Rashina is also currently serving in the U.S. Army. Be careful, or she might make you do push-ups!
